Wendy’s Dares You to Try Their “Dips of Dread” in New Wednesday-Inspired Meal
Blog | July 28th, 2025
If you’ve ever looked at your fast food and thought, “This just isn’t ominous enough,” then Wendy’s has something wickedly wonderful in store for you. Wendy’s is joining forces with the delightfully dreary Wednesday Addams to bring fans a new limited-time meal that’s both macabre and mouthwatering.
Welcome to the Meal of Misfortune, where even your dipping sauce is determined by fate.
Starting August 4, this delightfully gloomy meal hits Wendy’s locations across the U.S.. Inspired by the dark wit of the Netflix hit show “Wednesday,” the Meal of Misfortune includes:
“Rest in 10-Piece” Nuggets – crispy, bite-sized, and cooked with just enough doom to make you question your dinner choices.
Small “Cursed & Crispy” Fries – hot, salty, and possibly hexed.
Two mystery “Dips of Dread” – randomly selected from four mysteriously sinister sauces:
You Can’t Hyde
This Will Sting
Grave Mistake
Nowhere to Woe
A small “Raven’s Blood” Frosty – a rich, dark cherry twist on the classic, swirled with just the right amount of gothic flair.
And yes, everything comes wrapped in packaging that looks like it was conjured up during a Nevermore Academy lunch break. It’s spooky, silly, and surprisingly satisfying.
Why Wendy’s and Wednesday?
According to Wendy’s, this is a bold (and a little bit bizarre) creative union. “Wendy’s and ‘Wednesday’ are both cultural icons famous for challenging convention with wit and a bit of sass,” says Liz Geraghty, Wendy’s International Chief Marketing Officer. In other words, who better to create a “Meal of Misfortune” than the queen of deadpan darkness herself?
Even Wednesday Addams chimed in: “Normally I’d be against this kind of capitalistic corporate synergy. But when the fast-food-slinging pigtailed provocateur said I could do whatever I wanted to her customers, I couldn’t resist.”
When to Get the Meal and Watch the Show
Mark your calendar for Monday, August 4 that’s when this delicious descent into doom begins in restaurants and on the Wendy’s app across the U.S. Just in time to prep your tastebuds for the Season 2 premiere of Wednesday on Netflix, August 6.
This collaboration may be more about theatrics than true terror, but for fans of “Wednesday” and lovers of Wendy’s, it’s the perfect excuse for a creepy little bite. Whether you’re drawn to the mystery of the sauces or you just want to slurp down a Raven’s Blood Frosty while watching the new season, this is a playful spin on fast food that leans into spooky fun without taking itself too seriously.
So if you’re feeling adventurous—or mildly cursed—head to Wendy’s and embrace your misfortune.
Because really… when has dipping into the unknown ever gone wrong?
