Everything You Need To Stock Up On In June

Blog | June 6th, 2020

While maintaining safe practices and Covid-19 precautions, this June will be a bit different than those of our past. Great deals then may not be the best options in 2020. For example, gym memberships and movie theater deals hit the top of last year’s list. With social distancing still a must for many, home gym equipment and DVD’s will be a better route for now. But there are still plenty of awesome buys and things to stock up on in June!

Donuts and Chocolate Ice Cream

June 5 is National Donut Day. Yum! To celebrate, most donut stores are giving away freebies through the weekend! But, even if you are required to make a purchase, it’s still a great deal! Get some extras and freeze them for even more savings and a quick breakfast later on. Speaking of freezing, June 7 is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! So if you’re screaming for ice cream, chances are you could get a few free scoops of this original flavor! Your taste buds and your tummy will thank you for weeks to come!

Father’s Day

Many items for men will be on sale as Father’s Day headlines advertisements for June. Clothing, tools, sports equipment, camping items, and men’s cologne will lead you down the right path towards finding a great deal and an even better gift for dad! If you’re ready to take the leap and dine out, check your local restaurants for free appetizers and dessert offers on, or around, Father’s Day! Those frozen donut deals will also come in handy for dad to kick off his big day!

Air Conditioners

Beat the heat and shop air conditioners in June, before the deals are long gone. You can often snag some great savings just by shopping on the early side of summer. If you think your AC unit is on its last leg, or that a window unit could give your cooling system an extra boost, then consider purchasing a new unit before realizing your AC has died! Go ahead and get great deals while they’re hot…don’t wait until you are! When the worst of the heat hits in late summer, you’ll be glad you planned ahead! You’ll save on money and yourself from misery!

Produce, Of Course!

As with any other season, each one specializes in its own array of freshly grown goodies! There’s nothing like a real homegrown tomato on a grilled burger or a juicy red strawberry in summer. The best bang for your buck and your taste buds in June are apricots, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, corn, kiwi, lettuce, mangoes, peaches, strawberries, Swiss chard, watermelon, and zucchini.

Games

Any game that makes being at home more fun is now increasingly valuable. Whether it be a video game, board game, cards, outdoor games such as badminton, whiffle ball, or water games…June is the perfect time to increase your entertainment inventory.

DVD’S

Speaking of entertainment, one of the best stay-at-home pastimes is movie binging. You’ll always be able to stock up at Walmart’s $5.00 bin or find an affordable collection online. While you’re cyber shopping, check out Amazon…they offer plenty of movie classics at reduced prices! A stack of movies, old and new…with a big bowl of buttered popcorn will save you money, keep you safe at home, and beat the boredom!

Skin Care

Summer activities keep us outside, which can lead to sunburns, bug bites, and other skin irritants. While some retailers will mark up the price to take advantage of the season, others such as Bath and Body Works will do just the opposite. B&BW has its summer semiannual sale the second week of June through early July 2020. There, you can stock up on body care products for 50% to 75% off! Add other summer touches with select 3-wick candles and hand soaps at 50% off, with select Wallflowers fragrance refills on sale for $3.00. Retired fragrances will make splashing summer reappearances for $4.00 to $6.00! Summer scents are wonderful, but don’t forget to search the sales and stock up on plenty of sunscreen! Sunburn pain has a way of stealing any form of summertime joy!
