How to Keep Homemade Cookies Fresher, Longer!

One problem of making homemade cookies is
the challenge of keeping them fresh as long as possible. Unlike commercially
made cookies, most homemade cookie recipes don’t require preservatives and
additives. To preserve the freshness of your homemade cookies, here’s a simple
trick!

After baking the cookies and they are cool
enough to be stored, make sure the container is clean and absolutely dry. Then,
put a quarter slice of bread (per dozen cookies) in the container. The cookies
will absorb some of the moisture from the bread, ultimately keeping them
fresher and softer longer. Usually white bread is best because it won’t
transfer any of its own flavors onto the cookies. Once the bread starts to
harden you can replace it!
