Jonathan Pitre is a typical 14-year-old kid with a great love for sports, especially hockey. But what sets him apart from most children is that he has a rare genetic condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa, considered one of the most painful conditions known to man. Kids with this disease are called "Butterfly Children", because their skin is as fragile as a butterfly's wings. The slightest friction on the skin can result in incredible pain, and even eating is a laborious activity for Jonathan. For a kid with an intense love of sports, this is understandably a major obstacle in his life.
Despite his painful struggle, Jonathan's exuberance hasn't waned. He's a fighter, and his story is one of the most inspiring tales we've ever heard.
