These days, Syria is an incredibly war-torn country. With mounting tensions and violence, losing a family member is somewhat of a regular occurrence there.

Omran Daqneesh, who was the subject of much publicity recently after being photographed in his hometown of Aleppo, lost his older brother and his home in an airstrike. Alex, a six-year-old boy, penned a letter to Obama asking for his permission to bring Omran to America to become part of his family. Clearly, we could all learn a thing or two from Alex!
