That's a lesson that one YouTuber learned the hard way after unsuccessfully transferring two images to wooden blocks.

He started off with two photos, two wooden blocks and some matte gel and got to work. One tirade, a few choice words and two ruined images later, and his attempts at capturing his past in wooden form ended in failure.
