In 2009, Luis Monzon was diagnosed with Leukemia and after 9 months of intense chemotherapy treatments, the doctors said he needed a bone marrow transplant or else he wouldn't survive. No one in his immediate family was a suitable match and stress ensued upon his family and loved ones. Fortunately, Be The Match foundation found the perfect match for him not long after and the woman who donated her bone marrow to him would later save his life because of it.
