During the year of 2013, the Anchorage School District cancelled high school girls hockey. This young women were devastated that they were no longer going to be able to play their favorite sport if they couldn't get the funding. However, Dick's Sporting Goods stepped in and funded Anchorage girls hockey through the year of 2018!
