It was Mariam Pare's life long dream to spend the rest of her life as an artist, but when she experienced tragedy early into her life, she thought for a brief moment that her dream would only be just that- a dream. At 20 years old, she was shot in the back and was instantly paralyzed. Although she lost sensation in most her body, she never lost her passion in art. 

Using her memory and her determination, Mariam, now 38, manages to continue to create beautiful masterpieces using her mouth to hold her paint brush. From the brilliance of her art pieces, you would never guess she is disabled. They're beautiful!
