This Is What Divorce Means To Children. …Wow.

Description

Dear Mom and Dad, divorce is tough, but know you are not the only one going through the pain. In America, there are nearly 2,4000 divorces per day. That's over 60% percent more than it was 10 years ago, and as the rates increase, so does the pain of children of divorced parents.

In this video, a young preteen boy writes a letter to his parents experiencing a divorce. In the most emotionally explicit letter I have ever heard, he describes the pain he's going through. He says, "Although I am young and cannot express verbally what is happening in our lives, I'm still feeling the impact." Children's needs are just like parents, and as he perfectly states it, please don't assume that they are resilient and that their life will be exactly as it was pre-divorce.

Through the heart-wrenching words of this young boy, it is clear that divorce effects all family members, especially the children.

Divorce is an incredibly sensitive subject, and most everyone has their own particular beliefs on the matter. But whatever they be may, please include the emotions of the child of divorce. Their feelings matter too.

If this message isn't clear enough, I don't know what is.
