This Kind-Hearted Teacher’s Story Brings Ellen to TEARS!

The first thing kindergarten teacher Sonya Romero asks her students when they come to school in the morning is whether they have eaten, need a change of clothes, or need to brush their teeth. She says that she considers teachers as "first responders", and feels it is her duty to not only instruct her students, but also to care for their general well-being. Well-loved and respected by her students and her school community, Sonya is very much a heroine, and we wish all teachers everywhere are as compassionate as she is.
