The 98th Academy Awards air this Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC but if you don’t have cable you’re still in: Hulu streams the ceremony live, no add-ons needed.

SINNERS (R) — HBO Max and Prime Video 🧛


Ryan Coogler directs Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers who return home to 1932 Jim Crow Mississippi to open a juke joint only to encounter a supernatural evil drawn to the talent of their cousin – a young blues prodigy. Sinners is nominated for 16 awards — the most in Oscar history — including Best Director and Best Actor.




TRAIN DREAMS (PG-13) — Netflix 🚂


Director Clint Bentley adapts Denis Johnson’s celebrated novella, following an ordinary Pacific Northwest logger (Joel Edgerton) across a lifetime of love and loss in the early 1900s. The film is also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Song — Nick Cave’s first nod.




FRANKENSTEIN (R) — Netflix 🧌


Guillermo del Toro directs Oscar Isaac as the obsessive titular scientist and Jacob Elordi as the creature, in a lavish Gothic epic. The film’s other nods include Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.




THE SECRET AGENT (R) — Hulu and Disney+ 🕵


Wagner Moura plays an innocent researcher fleeing Brazil’s 1977 military dictatorship in a neo-noir thriller from director Kleber Mendonça Filho that swept Best Director and Best Actor at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. It is nominated for four Oscars including Best Actor and Best International Feature Film.




ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER (R) — HBO Max 🔫


Paul Thomas Anderson directs Leonardo DiCaprio as a burned-out ex-revolutionary forced back into action when his daughter is abducted by a revenge-driven Army colonel (Sean Penn) — a dark action-comedy that has cleaned up with 6 BAFTAs and 4 Golden Globes. Here it is nominated for 13 awards including Best Director and Best Actor.




HAMNET (PG-13) — Peacock (Also available to rent/buy on Amazon Prime Video) 📜


Chloé Zhao directs Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal as Agnes and a young William Shakespeare processing the loss of their 11-year-old son in 16th-century England — a heartbreaker with a third act that reveals how that grief became Hamlet. This one is also up for Best Director and Best Actress.




BUGONIA (R) — Peacock (7-day free trial available through Prime Video) 👽


Yorgos Lanthimos directs Emma Stone as a pharmaceutical CEO kidnapped by two conspiracy theorists convinced she’s an alien This darkly comic remake of the 2003 South Korean cult film Save the Green Planet! has Stone and Jesse Plemons both at peak strange. It’s also nominated for Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.




F1 (PG-13) — Apple TV+ (7-day free trial available through Prime Video) 🏎️


Joseph Kosinski directs Brad Pitt as a former Formula One prodigy coaxed back onto the track. Shot during actual F1 race weekends it is now the highest-grossing sports film of all time at $633 million.

Josh Safdie directs Timothée Chalamet as a 1952 Lower East Side shoe salesman willing to burn every relationship to become the world’s greatest table tennis champion. Chalamet won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice for Best Actor. The film is also up for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

Joachim Trier directs Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård in a quietly devastating drama about two adult sisters reuniting with their estranged filmmaker father and the wounds that reopen when he casts a young Hollywood star (Elle Fanning) in his comeback film. The film’s nominations include Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor
